Svay Rieng and Visakha Step Up Super Cup Preparations
The Krud Cambodian Super Cup 2026 is just around the corner, with two of Cambodia’s top teams, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and Visakha, set to face each other on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Morodok Techo National Stadium.
Ahead of this important clash, the two teams have taken different approaches to their pre-season preparations, but with the same goal: to strengthen their squads, help new players adapt, and prepare their systems for the new season.
Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng organized the Pre-Season Cup 2026, inviting international teams to Cambodia to give the squad the chance to test themselves against foreign opposition. Among the participating teams were Geylang International FC from the Singapore Premier League and Eastern District FC from the Hong Kong Premier League. The tournament was held at Morodok Techo National Stadium from August 12 to 21, 2026.
The tournament provided valuable preparation for Svay Rieng, as facing international opponents allowed the coaching staff to test different tactics, defensive organization, attacking strategies, and new players ahead of their Super Cup meeting with Visakha.
Visakha, meanwhile, took a different approach by travelling to Bali, Indonesia, for a training camp. Their focus was on building fitness, improving coordination among the players, and developing their playing system for the new season. The overseas camp also gave the team an opportunity to focus on team building, not only improving their technical and physical abilities but also strengthening understanding between the players and coaching staff.
With both teams preparing in different ways, there will be plenty to look forward to when they meet on the pitch. Svay Rieng have tested themselves through international matches, while Visakha have focused on squad building and an overseas training camp.
